Eldorado
The Eldorado Reno Hotel Casino is located right in the middle of downtown Reno, with a skywalk connecting it to the Silver Legacy. It is one of the nicest and best maintained properties in Reno, known to locals as the Shining Star of Reno. Fine dining, exciting entertainment options and luxurious hotel rooms are the hallmarks of the Eldorado.
Casino Player Magazine has named the Eldorado as having the best rooms and suites in Reno. Options from economy rooms to luxury suites meet the needs of any traveler. Each room includes pay-per-view movies, marble bathrooms, Judith Jackson Spa amenities and an in-room safe, so guests can lock up their winnings. Guests can also take advantage of the free airport shuttle or valet parking service. The Eldorado features a seasonally open outdoor heated pool and sundeck. While it does not have a spa or exercise facility, guests can use the facilities at the nearby Silver Legacy Health Spa for a small fee.
The 81,000 square foot casino at the Eldorado has over 1,800 slot and video poker machines, in addition to all of the most popular table games. Club Eldorado, the players club, offers five different membership levels, depending on the number of points players earn. The club may be a bit tighter for low rollers than the clubs at other hotels because Eldorado is such a nice property. A small sports book is available to place a quick bet on a game or race.
The Eldorado has one of the best poker rooms in Reno. Limits can be higher than at some other casinos, but the environment is fun and lively. The poker room is non-smoking between 10AM and 2AM each day, catering to those who prefer a smoke-free environment. It offers tournaments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and bad beat jackpots. Seven Card Stud and Texas Hold’em are the regularly dealt games.
Eldorado is a great place for nighttime fun and entertainment. The Eldorado showroom, a 580 seat venue, hosts concerts, stand-up comedy, and Cirque du Soleil inspired shows. The Brew Brothers microbrewery features live rock and blues shows nightly. Roxy is a Parisian-themed piano and martini bar, where the piano and vocals are hot all night long. BuBinga is an energetic lounge and dance club. And finally, the Casino Cabaret offers live music on the casino floor.
The property features ten different dining options, running the full range. Many consider La Strada to be the best Italian restaurant in downtown Reno. The Prime Rib Grill serves up great cuts of meat at reasonable prices, running about $20 per steak. Golden Fortune specializes in Hong Kong style Chinese cuisine, offering more gourmet Asian fare.
Eldorado Hotel Rooms
Eldorado’s rooms are somewhat tighter than those at other hotels in Reno, but make up for it by being beautifully appointed. At 160 square feet, economy rooms are on the small size, but cozy and finished well. Standard rooms run up to 200 square feet, while deluxe and luxury rooms are 250 to 300 square feet. In-room safes are standard, offering convenient protection for cash, gaming chips or jewelry, and are large enough to fit most laptop computers.
