Harrahs Reno
Harrah’s fails to disappoint on its reputation for offering high quality gaming, hotels and amenities at the Harrah’s Reno Casino, a Mobil Four-Star Award winner. The casino, like many other Harrah’s properties, has a fun Mardi Gras atmosphere. With a 60,000 square foot casino, seven restaurants and top-notch entertainment, Harrah’s is a good bet for visitors or locals who want to stay or gamble in downtown Reno.
Harrah’s 928 rooms and suites start around 350 square feet, a generous size. The beautifully appointed rooms have large TVs with video game consoles and coffeemakers, as well as 24 hour room service. For guests with pets, there’s a special kennel on the fifth floor of the hotel. Free valet parking and airport shuttle services are offered.
Harrah’s Reno has a large casino offering a wide range of machines and games, including a very nice high limit salon with higher denomination slot machines. Quite a few progressive slots boast high jackpot prizes. Minimums on table games tend to start around $5, but can be higher on some games, and are higher than other casinos in the area. Harrah’s also offers a seven table poker room, primarily dealing Texas Hold’em games.
Because the casino is part of the Harrah’s family of hotels and casinos, it participates in the award-winning Harrah’s Total Rewards players club. This program allows players to earn and spend comps at over forty casinos across the country, including some of the top casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. The program also has elite levels for those who regularly play at Harrah’s casinos, offering free rooms, upgrades, limousines, priority reservations at restaurants and line passes and more. New players can participate in special promotions, like a loss rebate of up to $100 on their first thirty minutes of play.
The dining options at Harrah’s Reno are excellent. Café Andreotti is an upscale grill, serving moderately priced steaks, pizzas and pasta, with great desserts. Harrah’s Steakhouse is an award winning restaurant, serving some of the tastiest stakes in Reno. Lucky Noodle Bar offers all types of noodles for quick, light meals. For something even faster, there’s a Quizno’s toasted sandwich shop, which offers cheap, great tasting eats.
Harrah’s features several top-notch nighttime entertainment options. Bareback is Harrah’s original new country rock show, featuring singers and a lineup of gorgeous cowgirls. A Chippendales show is performed on Thursday through Monday nights. Sammy’s Showroom, named for Sammy Davis Jr. features headliners. And drinks and dancing at the popular Sapphire Lounge are hot five nights a week.
